The billet import market in the UAE was also weak, with offers from Iran coming in at $395-400 per tonne cfr. The weekly price assessment for UAE billet imports was unchanged at $395-400 per tonne cfr on Tuesday. Local rebar producers in the UAE did not announce any new prices this week, leaving Metal Bulletin’s price assessment for UAE domestic rebar unchanged at 1,720-1,775 dirhams ($468-483) per tonne ex-works on Tuesday. But market participants said they expect to see an increase of 50-100 dirhams ($14-27) per tonne soon.
