    *** Russia flat steel , Hot-rolled sheet

Fastmarkets’ weekly price assessment for steel hot-rolled sheet, domestic, cpt Moscow, Russia was 55,500-58,000 roubles ($755-789) per tonne including 20% value-added tax on Monday, up from 55,000-56,000 roubles per tonne a week earlier. The price is at a Fastmarkets record high and compares with 40,500-41,000 roubles per tonne on January 7,2020.
One stockist said his purchase price for December HR sheet was 55,500 roubles per tonne, up from 45,000 roubles per tonne paid for November tonnages.
Offers from Severstal, one of the key domestic suppliers, were heard at 58,500 roubles per tonne.
Traders that have stocking agreements with steel mills receive material into stock without payment and can then buy agreed tonnages from the stocks they hold at any time during a given period, at the price in effect at that time.

The price for non-stockists was 58,000 roubles per tonne for January material, sources said.
Trading activity in the region was reported to be good during the assessment week.
“Buyers struggle to secure tonnages for the first quarter, anticipating new price rises,” one trader said.

Novolipetsk Steel (NLMK), one of the major suppliers to the region, increased offers for January CR sheet to 70,500 roubles per tonne from 65,000 roubles per tonne heard last week. But this price was not included in the assessment because buyers considered it too high.
