Turkey domestic auto bundle scrap prices have increased slightly over the past week, but ship scrap prices were fairly stable, market sources said on Monday April 12.
In response to the upturn in imported scrap values over the past week, a number of steel mills have raised their buy prices for domestic auto bundle scrap.

Fastmarkets’ daily index for steel scrap, HMS 1&2 (80:20 mix), North Europe origin, cfr Turkey, was $423.29 per tonne on Friday, up from $416.94 per tonne on April 1.
Long and flat steelmaker Çolakoglu raised its buy price for auto bundle scrap by 80 Turkish lira ($10) per tonne to 3,605 lira ($440) per tonne delivered.
Alloy long steel mill Asil Çelik increased its buy price by the same amount to 3,595 lira per tonne delivered.

As a result, Fastmarkets’ weekly price assessment for steel scrap, auto bundle scrap, domestic, delivered Turkey, was 2,950-3,605 lira per tonne on April 12, widening upward from 2,950-3,525 lira per tonne the week before.
Domestic ship scrap prices were mostly stable this week, because the mills in the Izmir region all kept their buy prices flat at $390-392 per tonne delivered.
