China’s crude steel, hot metal and finished steel production continued to experience year-on-year growth in April, according to data released by the country’s National Bureau of Statistics (NBS) on Monday May 17.
April output
Crude steel: ۹۷٫۸۵ million tonnes, up by 13.4% from April 2020 and 4% higher than March 2021
Hot metal: ۷۵٫۹۷ million tonnes, up by 3.8% year on year and 1.6% month on month
Finished steel: ۱۲۱٫۲۸ million tonnes, up by 12.5% year on year and up 1.2% month on month
January-April output
Crude steel: ۳۷۴٫۵۶ million tonnes, up by 15.8% year on year
Hot metal: ۳۰۶٫۶۴ million tonnes, up by 8.7% year on year
Finished steel: ۴۵۲٫۵۳ million tonnes, up by 20.1% year on year
The NBS also released January-April data for major downstream steel industries on Monday.
New construction starts by floor area: ۵۳۹٫۰۵ million square meters, up by 12.8% year on year
Infrastructure investment: up by 18.4% year on year
On May 12, the China Association of Automobile Manufacturers released production and sales figures for the first four months of 2021.
April output: ۲٫۲۳ million units, up by 6.3 % year on year, down by 9.3% from March 2021
April sales: ۲٫۲۵ million units, up by 8.6% year on year, down by 10.8% month on month
January-April output: ۸٫۵۹ million units, up by 53.4% year on year
January-April sales: ۸٫۷۵ million units, up by 51.8% year on year
